Mother’s Day is coming up next week and I remember that for years, it was a very sad day because I longed to be a “Mother”. But then the Lord reminded me that it’s not about me – it’s about honoring my Mother!
I remembered Pastor Elbert Yeatts from Colonial Baptist where I was a member for many years. He always wore a white rose on his lapel. I remember once, he said through tears that he wished he could wear a red rose because that would mean that his mother was still alive. The tradition was that if your Mom is alive, you (including men) wear a red rose and if she is with the Lord, wear a white rose in honor of Mother. So, whether you are a Mom or not, lets remember our Moms with a rose this year. I am thankful that John and I both can wear a red rose to honor our Mothers
