Neverdun News – Taste and See

My friend sent this wonderful story in her newsletter today and has given me permission to share it with you. If you love birds like we do, I know you will enjoy it!

One day recently there was an extra amount of chatter outside the window, the sound heard when a nest of baby birds are pushing and shoving and jockeying in position to be the one to receive the fresh food being flown in. But this time the cacophony was not coming from the nest snuggled in the cozy corner of the porch. It was coming from the ground beneath the feeder.

Glancing outside I saw some young birds calling for food. They were making all kinds of racket, trying to get someone to feed them . . .

They were surrounded by sunflower seeds. All they had to do was reach down and pick them up. But they kept calling and calling and calling and calling.

Finally the mature bird picked up a seed and put it in the mouth of one of the young birds.

Suddenly it became very, very quiet as they all began feasting on the food that had been right there, surrounding them the entire time.

The Word of God is right there at your fingertips. Open His Word and open your heart and feast! For in His presence there is fullness of joy. And contentment. And satisfaction. And truth.
